Hello, I'm Vick!

My name is Vick Fichtner, and I’m not your typical travel agent!

While travel agents often act as intermediaries between booking systems and travelers, I consider myself a travel advisor and designer.

I work directly with clients to create highly customized and personalized travel experiences that go beyond simply booking flights and hotels. I’m not affiliated with any specific agency or consortia, and I don’t receive incentives for promoting certain companies or organizations. Instead, I focus on building strong relationships with Destination Management Companies (DMCs), local businesses, and expert guides abroad in the selected destinations I work with, which allows me to offer my clients truly authentic and unique experiences.

In short, I'm an advocate for my clients and a conversation partner who maps logistics and offers personalized recommendations.

My background and skills

I’ve had quite a varied background leading up to my current role. I started my career as an architect, but shortly after graduation, I decided to pursue my lifelong passion for photography. That`s when I moved to Barcelona to study for two master`s degrees in photography and fell in love with European life.

As a travel and architectural photographer, I was fortunate enough to travel extensively and even started a travel blog to document my experiences. I also worked as a tour guide in Barcelona, which gave me my first taste of the travel industry.

For the last few years, I’ve also worked as a product manager and business developer for a local tour operator, which gave me a deep understanding of how the travel business works. Through this experience, I was able to build strong relationships with local European providers from countries such as Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Greece, which are the destinations that I chose to focus on when I launched my own company, Experience Wanderlust.

As an international citizen who was born in Brazil to a family with different European backgrounds and moved to Spain by herself when she was only 25, I consider myself a citizen of the world. I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Catalan fluently.

So, why am I the right person to work with you?

With my unique combination of skills and experiences, I believe I’m uniquely positioned to help clients create unforgettable travel experiences. My background in architecture and photography, combined with my knowledge of the travel industry, allows me to provide a truly personalized approach to travel planning. I’m able to offer my clients access to some of the most unique and authentic travel experiences available in Europe, and my strong relationships with local providers ensure that each trip is seamless and stress-free.

If you’re looking for a travel experience that goes above and beyond the typical vacation, I’d love to work with you and help make your travel dreams a reality.

5 Things I can't Travel whthout:

  1. My professional DSLR camera. Photography is and always will be one of my biggest passions.
  2. My kindle or a book, for those long airport waiting times or to read before bed/by the pool/by the sea.
  3. My own curated list of places to eat and foods to try – always based on local`s recommendations, of course! I`m a big foodie!
  4. A beautiful one-piece bathing suit – you never know, the hotel may have an amazing swimming pool and you can also wear it with pants or shorts for a stylish, chic holiday look!
  5. My sleeping mask and noise-canceling earplugs – Holly Golightly knew it all!
